Job Overview
We are looking for independent Lineman that have full experience in Aerial Telecom Construction. Must have their own bucket truck and tools. We are looking to onboard through 1099 contract. It will be a per piece deal, pay will depend on productivity and quality. We have a high volume of work in the Long Island Area. From borderline Nassau county to end of Suffolk county. Duties

• Install, repair, and maintain overhead fiber optic and coaxial cables, and telecommunication infrastructure across diverse terrains.
• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
• Use hand tools and power tools to splice fiber optics, connect cables, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and network diagrams to accurately execute installation or repair procedures.
• Climb poles or towers using climbing gear to access fiber routes while adhering to safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot issues related to fiber systems, fiber splicing, telecommunication lines, and network connectivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards such as OSHA regulations while working with electrical systems or heavy equipment.
• Document work performed through detailed reports and update schematics or network diagrams as needed.
• Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving construction of new lines or upgrades to existing infrastructure.

Skills

• Proven experience in field service operations within telecommunications or electrical industries.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including bucket trucks and power tools.
• Skilled in fiber splicing techniques with an understanding of fiber optic cabling standards.
• Familiarity with telecommunication systems including cabling, schematics interpretation and network infrastructure.
• Comfort working at heights is essential.
• Experience working with low voltage electrical systems; knowledge of electrical safety practices is required.
• Competence in using hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, drills, saws along with power tools for construction tasks.
• Strong understanding of schematics related to fiber optics infrastructure and coaxial diagrams.
• Excellent physical fitness with the ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and documenting work accurately. Pay: $30.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
