Job Opening: Digital Producer at WAND-TV | Decatur, IL
WAND TV, the market leading television station in central Illinois, is looking for Digital Producer to help cultivate and report stories on our digital platforms.
WAND is centrally located in the Springfield-Decatur-Champaign market in Decatur, Illinois, and offers an incredible low cost-of-living, a family atmosphere, superior culture, and industry-leading benefits.

Decatur has its own airport. Chicago is 3 hours to the north and St. Louis is 2 hours to the southwest.

The WAND family supports each other inside and outside the newsroom. WAND is looking for a team player, plus someone who is highly motivated to learn and grow and is willing to work hard every day to set the bar higher. The salary range for this position is $32,000-$35,000.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Drive our digital storytelling by collaborating with reporters, anchors, and producers.
Keep our website fresh and full of engaging content.
Write effective headlines and sharp summaries.
Create compelling, interactive posts for social media.
Assist the newsroom in building an individual social media presence and audience.
Shape and execute social strategies that grow our digital footprint.
Send breaking news, weather, and sports alerts that keep our community in the know.
Edit content for clarity, fairness, and tone—keeping it polished and audience-ready.
What You Bring to the Table:
Strong writing with a command of AP Style.
Excellent judgment for what makes news—and what makes readers care.
A calm, cool, and collaborative mindset—especially under deadline pressure.
Social media fluency and a knack for analytics.
Bonus points for SEO skills and web publishing experience.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
1–2 years in a newsroom, digital media, or publishing environment preferred.
