Electronics X‑Ray Inspection Technician (IPC‑A‑610)

Where: Newark, CA | Team: Manufacturing Quality | Reports to: Quality Engineering Manager

• Do you spot subtle solder voids and bridges in an AXI image that others overlook?
• Can you translate BOMs, MPIs, ECNs, and deviations into precise inspection action?
• Are you energized by partnering with engineers to lift first‑pass yield and reduce rework?

What you’ll tackle

• Run and oversee daily AXI (including 5DX) operations to support the production line.
• Review AXI output to ensure consistent detection of component placement issues and solder joint defects.
• Load AXI programs as instructed and verify parameters before release to production.
• Inspect ICs, chips, connectors, joints, text/markings, and related features using the AXI computer‑operated system.
• Apply magnification aids and accept/reject criteria per IPC‑A‑610.
• Read/interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, MPI, ECN, Deviation, and other inspection documentation.
• Identify SMT paste and placement nonconformances with repeatable judgment and documentation.
• Assist engineers with data collection, system evaluations, and equipment training for operators.
• Contribute to workplace organization and improvement initiatives (5S).
• Carry out additional AXI support and production tasks as assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed

• 3+ years hands‑on experience with AXI or 5DX equipment.
• High School Diploma.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and ESD controls.
• IPC‑A‑610 Certification.

• Compensation: Salary Range: $20.00 - $27.00/ Hour
