The Email Marketing Developer will be responsible for designing, coding and testing emails that nurture customer relationships throughout their journey with our brand Balsam Hill US.  

 This position reports to the CRM Marketing Manager and is based in our Boise office location. This role is expected to work in a hybrid model, which currently includes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-office. 

What you’ll do:

  • Build/Code visually appealing and responsive HTML/CSS email templates to be compatible with Optimail 

  • Develop and modify email templates and existing campaigns, including editable modules so templates can be reused 

  • Test compatibility and proper rendering across different email clients and devices, and perform A/B testing to optimize campaign performance 

  • Develop rule-based email templates that integrate personalized dynamic content elements, automate workflows and configure link tracking 

  • Implement customer segmentation strategies and manage email streams and sequences that engage customers at different stages of their journey 

  • Work with marketing teams, designers, and other stakeholders to execute email strategies 

  • Apply best practices in email development, email compliance regulations especially CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and accessibility 

  • Troubleshoot HTML, CSS or other performance issues  

  • May be tasked in construction/executing email campaigns. This can include implementing conditional logic or leveraging 3rd party content for personalization, using Optimove and other similar programs 

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; and/or 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably with an eCommerce brand  

  • 3+ years of experience with various email marketing and/or CDP platforms, like Optimove, Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud.  

  • Fluent in HTML and CSS 

  • Demonstrate commitment to accuracy and thoroughness  

  • Experience with A/B testing and email optimization  

  • Experience with proofing tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid  

  • Experience using, building, and maintaining both one-off marketing and lifecycle campaigns  

Nice to have:  

  • Knowledge of email subscriber list best practices for both GDPR and CAN-SPAM laws 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that bridge technical and non-technical audiences  

  • Knowledge of SQL, AMPScript, JavaScript, JIRA or other project management tools

The base pay rate for this position is $33-41 per hour.
