Job Description

Salary: $82,969 - 82,969 per year Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Security/Compliance Engineering.
  • Extensive proficiency in the administration, design, and implementation of security controls, including methodologies and principles across all levels of security.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication abilities, collaboration skills, and experience presenting technical matters to a diverse range of audiences, including management and non-technical staff.
  • Current professional/technical certifications, such as CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, GISEC, CISM, or CISA.
  • Knowledge of technologies, tools, and process controls aimed at minimizing risk and data exposure.
  • A broad technical understanding of current and emerging technologies employed both within corporate infrastructure and in providing customer-facing services.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Suitability for Public Trust is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for government systems.
  • Obtain and maintain Authorities to Operate (ATOs).
  • Develop System Security Plans (SSP), Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&M), Continuous Monitoring Plans, Risk Assessments, Privacy Impact Analyses (PIA), and related documentation for systems adhering to NIST SP800-53.
  • Lead security assessment and authorization processes and procedures.
  • Oversee cybersecurity audits conducted by federal departments/agencies, including third-party auditors.
  • Create and finalize continuous monitoring reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with pertinent government agencies, company management, customers, vendors, and suppliers to guarantee comprehension of security requirements.
  • Review results from vulnerability and compliance scans (such as Nessus, Qualys), collaborate with team members to rectify vulnerabilities, and track the ongoing status and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure conformity with established policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and document cybersecurity incidents, providing preventive and corrective measures.
  • Report all cybersecurity incidents to the program Information Systems Security Managers (ISSM) via reports and presentations.
  • Participate in the change management process to assure that changes to software, hardware, and firmware do not negatively impact security.
  • Design, conduct, and present information security awareness and training sessions regarding various customer and corporate security policies.
  • Recommend best practices for security and configurations of systems.

This opportunity involves working closely with our Industrial Security team to conduct cybersecurity compliance activities aligned with various government contracts. The Senior Information Security Engineer will execute all seven phases of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process in accordance with FISMA and DoD policy. Your role will include developing documentation, tracking and resolving vulnerabilities, and engaging with both Lumen program teams and government clients regularly.
