Job Title: Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

Location: Northport, AL
Department: Administrative Services
Reports to: Director of Human Resources 
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12PM-5PM

Job Overview:
Parker Towing Co, Inc., founded in 1940, is a leading barge line operator in the United States. We are seeking a friendly and organized individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. This is a part time position with no prior experience required – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service.
  • Answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Maintain the front desk and reception area, ensuring it is clean and organized.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and scheduling.
  • Support other departments with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or a willingness to learn.
  • A positive attitude and team-player mindset.
