Position Summary Under general direction, from the Payroll Manager or their designee, will perform a variety of duties assigned to payroll functions. Subsequently, this position will be responsible for reviewing and processing employee timecards/sheets, correspond with external business partners, review payroll files, and generate paychecks and other duties as assigned for multiple respite programs and office locations. Essential Duties: 1. Develops, maintains, and enters all payroll transactions and/or data into the accounting system. 2. Maintain accurate ongoing communication (verbal and written) with external/internal business partners (Company) and human resources. 3. Ability to process EOR & Agency payroll in a timely and accurate manner as mandated by policy (bi-weekly); review and audit all timecards; print and distribute all pay checks; accurately maintain and process all direct deposits; follow-up and resolve all payroll issues, including late timecards; process and distribute check inserts. 4. Will edit and review EOR & Agency timesheets within the Respite Timekeeping System. 5. Responsible for the completion of verification of employment and other related employment verification forms/requests. 6. When called upon, we will assist with the accurate and timely payment of payroll taxes and withholdings for both federal and state. 7. Accurately maintain and review respite mileage within Respite System for designated branch office(s) appropriately process all respite mileage checks as mandated by policy (bi-weekly). 8. Verify all voided checks have been accurately recorded within the accounting system. 9. Review, audit, file and process lost checks'; contact respite worker in regard to all replacement checks. 10. Ability to function appropriately with the designated respite system & any other related accounting/payroll/billing system; ensuring payroll/accounting related information is entered and maintained accurately. 11. Continuously strive to provide excellent customer service, interpersonal communication and serve as a source of accurate information. Secondary Duties: 1. Assist in other administrative areas of the organization when needed. 2. Periodically assist other departments with auditing practices. Education, Experience and Skills Required: 1. High school graduate or equivalent (GED) plus post-secondary education in accounting, business administration or related fields of study. 2. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and Spanish. 3. Ability to type 30 wpm and do basic business arithmetic. 4. Working experience and knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting principles (2-3 years). 5. Practical applications of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word for Windows required. 6. Ability to use standard office machines such as a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, etc. 7. Valid California Driver's License. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend complex issues. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Working Conditions Office-based environment; remote or hybrid work may be considered. Standard business hours: occasional extended hours as needed. Occasional travel for training or meetings. Environmental Requirements: Must be able to greet staff members, participants and community members in a pleasant and professional manner on a consistent basis. Must consistently maintain composure and meet office challenges with maturity, objectively and strive to always deliver the utmost in customer service. Scheduling and Availability: Working hours generally are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with an hour for lunch.
