Job Description

DKC is seeking smart, energetic, entrepreneurial communications and media relations experts with 3 - 6 years of spirits, food, non-alcoholic beverages, and lifestyle public relations and communications experience to join our amazing creative team! Must have strong interest, expertise and passion in the realm of food & beverage, wine & spirits, home & design, and lifestyle.

The candidate will be a strategic communicator who leads day-to-day account direction and oversight for ongoing media relations to achieve client goals. They’ll come equipped with strong media contacts, a proven track record in media relations and securing media coverage, extensive experience in client relations, excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail. They will be comfortable working on teams in a shifting, fast-paced environment, and will be a creative problem-solver able to navigate an ever-changing media landscape.

Job requirements include:
  • Smart, energetic, savvy with sophisticated media relations expertise and digital/social media skills looking to join our rapidly expanding team.
  • 3-6 years’ experience in public relations and integrated communications, with experience with spirits, food and non-alc beverages, design, and lifestyle business brands and corporate clients. Agency experience preferred.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications programs with media relations at the core.
  • Strong media relations skills in the context of meeting clients’ strategic needs
  • Ability to create written materials in support of comprehensive media relations programs
  • Proven track record of thoroughly understanding clients’ business objectives and actively participating in the development of strategic plans and communications programs
  • Proficient in the creation of all press materials such as pitch letters, press releases, fact sheets and bios
  • Deep relationships at multiple levels at major national and NY based traditional and new media outlets as well as outlets relevant to clients
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly, comfortably and in an informed/prepared manner converse with senior DKC staff and independently with clients on a daily basis

The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience: $65k - $80k.
