Job Description

Job Summary:

The PLC Applications Engineer writes PLC programs, OIT programs, and software control descriptions for controlling various water and/or wastewater processes. This is the ideal role for an Automation Engineer with a passion for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of programmable logic for such applications. Senior Programmers, for us have the ability and willingness to train and aid other programmers, along with assisting in the development of departmental best practices and standards.

Essential Functions:

* Write PLC operating program based upon control specification to assure safe, reliable and optimal equipment operation
* Write (publish) concise operating instructions detailing; control parameters and their effects under normal and failure conditions
* Provide technical assistance (phone or job-site) to verify and/or modify PLC program
* Perform customer training and assist sales force with product presentations
* Work with various departments internally, along with consulting engineers, customers and end-users to assure proper system layouts and designs
* Assist in training other employees on any aspect above

* High level of project management skills

Education/Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or related field and industry experience
* 5+ years experience
* Applied knowledge in programming major manufacturers PLCs & OITs
* Excellent understanding of computer operations, Microsoft Office
* Excellent knowledge of instruments and electro-mechanical devices used for process control
