Position summary
The Senior/ Executive Director, Medical Science Liaison (MSL), reporting to the Chief Medical Officer is a field-based scientific expert dedicated to maximizing relationships with key opinion leaders to drive scientific engagement and clinical trial enrollment. This position achieves this by working hands-on at trial sites, fostering strong relationships with investigators and healthcare professions and effectively communicating Radionetics Oncology science. The MSL actively identifies potential scientific thought leaders and clinical sites, supports research activities, and ensures a clear understanding of the scientific rationale behind our development candidates, all in the service of accelerating patient access to innovative treatments through successful trial participation.

Essential job functions and duties
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with oncology KOLs, academic researchers, and clinical. Provide in-depth scientific and clinical education on pipeline assets, and disease state information. MSL will use various channels for interactions (conference attendance, one-on-one meetings, group presentations, advisory boards, remote outreach, etc.).
  • Effectively present information to health care providers and be available to respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures.
  • Support investigator-initiated trials (IITs) from site identification to enrollment of patients.
  • Support company-sponsored studies (e.g. identification and assessment of potential study sites) to support patient recruitment and/or discussions around the safe use of Radionetics Oncology investigational products.
  • Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with Thought Leaders to understand their needs and expertise. Continuously update their own knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
  • Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the organizations to be actioned in support of the strategy development.
  • Report safety information, including adverse events, in accordance with Radionetics Oncology Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Attend major oncology congresses (e.g., ASCO, SNNMI, AACR) to engage with thought leaders and gather, deliver scientific presentations. Collect and communicate field insights to internal stakeholders to inform clinical development and medical strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Discovery, Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by business needs.
Minimum required qualifications
  • Advanced degree in life sciences/ healthcare (or clinically relevant degree) is required. Master’s, PharmD, MPharm, PhD, MBBS, BDS, MD strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of Field Medical experience in medical affairs is preferred.
  • Experience in oncology is preferred, radiopharmaceutical experience is a plus.
  • Highly motivated and thrives working in a fast-paced innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines, CFR, EMA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Deep understanding of oncology therapeutic landscape, clinical trial design and treatment guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and act as a team player.
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written).
  • Self-starter who can lead and manage function independently, while utilizing sound judgment.
Non-standard work schedule, travel or environmental requirements
The position is ideally based in San Diego, CA; a portion of the job duties may be performed remotely. Remote may be considered for a highly qualified candidate.

Position requires ability to travel overnight of up to 50-70%, as well as work 4 to 6 weekends per year.

Compensation & Benefits
Radionetics has a competitive total compensation package that includes bonus opportunity; equity; medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) annually; and generous paid holidays.

Pay Range: $220,000 - $320,000
Radionetics evaluates a variety of factors in determining individual pay decisions, which may include relevant education, experience, and skills; internal equity; complexity and responsibility of the role; and market demand relative to the position. Geographic location may also be a consideration in evaluating salary when candidates work in states outside of California.
