Position Summary
This is an entry-level position designed to train and develop motivated candidates with no prior tower work experience. You will receive paid, hands-on and classroom instruction in safety, rigging, fall protection, tower technology, fiber optics, wireless systems, and more. After training, you will work on tower construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and related tasks, often at heights and in outdoor environments.

Key Training Areas
  • Tower Climbing & Safety – Learn safe climbing techniques, fall protection, and working at extreme heights (over 300 feet).
  • Tower Construction & Maintenance – Hands-on experience in building, repairing, and inspecting communication towers.
  • Rigging & Equipment Handling – Training on proper use of tools, rigging gear, and personal protective equipment.
  • Cabling & Antenna Installation – Practical instruction in fiber optics, coax, and antenna setup.
  • Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance – Identifying and resolving technical issues on towers and equipment.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Reading – Learn to interpret technical diagrams and work plans.
  • Documentation & Compliance – Proper logging of work, inspections, and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Teamwork & Field Operations – Experience collaborating on job sites and adapting to varied outdoor conditions.
The Ideal Candidate 
Required / Must-Haves
  • Comfortable working at extreme heights (over 300 feet)
  • Physically fit and able to meet the demands of climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varied, extreme weather conditions
  • Frequent travel (in a company vehicle) to different project sites is required, providing hands-on experience in diverse tower environments; work is generally Monday–Friday with weekends at home. All travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to follow detailed protocols
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and DOT physical
  • Positive attitude, motivated, and eager to learn
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, or technical tasks (not required)
  • Familiarity with hand tools, rigging, or climbing
  • Ability to read basic schematics, wiring diagrams, or technical plans
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and complete tasks efficiently
Program Duration & Training
  • Initial training (classroom and hands-on) under Patriot Towers University
  • Progressive on-the-job development under supervision
  • Typical SkillBridge placement duration (e.g. 3–6 months, aligned with service options)
  • Upon successful completion, potential conversion to full-time tower technician role
Post SkillBridge Compensation & Benefits 
Upon successful completion, candidates may be offered a full-time role with:
  • Clear career pathway to become a fully certified Tower Technician, with potential for advancement into team lead, project management, or technical specialist roles.
  • Opportunities for additional certifications and specialized training funded by the company.
  • Starting annual salary: $52,000 – $58,000, based on experience and certifications earned during SkillBridge.
