Mesirow is an independent, employee-owned financial services firm founded in 1937. Headquartered in Chicago, with offices across the globe , Mesirow serves clients through its capabilities spanning buy side, sell side and advisory services.

We are currently seeking an intern to work in our IT department’s Software Development team.  Mesirow internship positions are for savvy, adaptable students interested that are passionate about technology and capital markets. The internship is designed to help students gain some hands-on and real-world experience.

Responsibilities

  • Modify and maintain existing software applications using c#, python, sql and javascript
  • Translate business requirements into functional code
  • Provide support and maintenance duties when required
  • Work closely with software development team, end-users, and management to define requirements

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Development
  • Graduation in May 2027
  • Must have GPA 3.5 or above
  • Sound Programming Fundamentals with an understanding of it
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of all Microsoft Office products
  • Object Oriented
  • ETL
  • Procedural
  • Functional
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of all Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent analytical and math skills, with the ability to work in teams
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to interact well with various levels of personnel

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated compensation for the role will be $20.00 per hour for the duration of the program.
