Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 20 years of experience in Management Consulting, Product Management, Engineering, General Management or Operations roles, building relationships and leading operational initiatives.
- 10 years of experience as a Chief of Staff, Program Manager, Project Manager, Professional Services, or equivalent roles.
- Experience working with relevant products and technologies and ability to translate technical issues into impact on product direction.
- Experience managing core business planning and cadences, and leadership engagement.
Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree or equivalent technical degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
About The Job As the Vice President and Chief of Staff for our Core organization, you will lead the strategy and operations of Google’s most cross-functional business throughout its next phase of growth and transformation with a mission to to make Google better, for everyone and at scale.
In this role, you will have a unique vantage point to understand Core and each business across Google, influence senior stakeholders, and drive the development of this critical product area’s strategy. You will ensure that the Core remains focused on what matters and that decisions are based on the most relevant information. In addition, you will be responsible for managing critical organizational processes such as yearly and quarterly goal-setting, product reviews, and work closely with Finance on annual planning. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure our business remains focused on what matters and drives operational effectiveness in the utilization of our resources with a focus towards innovation.
You will act as a trusted advisor to the organization lead, and in some instances be called upon to act as a proxy. Alphabet’s Board of Directors, our C-level executives, our customer base, and our partners will rely on the VP and Chief of Staff to inform key decisions.
The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities - Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Senior Vice President and General Manager, leaders across Core, and across Google’s product areas.
- Build the multi-year strategy and narrative for the Core organization.
- Identify the key operating metrics and build an effective approach to monitor progress against goals and key measurements.
- Partner closely across functions relevant to the business, including Product and Engineering, People Operations, Finance, Legal, Communications, and Operations.
- Establish the strategic narrative for the Core product area, providing the foundational content used for communications.
