Job Description

We are currently seeking a Yoga Instructor for the Greater Waco YMCA. The Yoga Instructor will lead group exercise classes in the practice of Yoga. The candidate will provide a safe environment while welcoming, connecting, and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Keep current certification through a national certifying association. 
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. 
• Ensure class is set-up, starts/ends on time and equipment is stored appropriately. 
• Follow association/branch dress code. 
• Teach each class as formatted by the Health and Fitness 
• Director and maintain agreed upon class attendance minimums. 
• Shares fitness program information with members, using available tools and resources. 
• Communicates with members and program participants while building relationships in support of their individual needs. 
• Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. 
• Must be reliable with a good attendance record. 
• Have a good knowledge of fitness and wellness. 
• Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. 
• Be willing to uphold the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith. 
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. 
• Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check.

Pay Rate: $18-$21 Hourly
