  • You’re a motivated rising senior student with a 3.0 GPA or higher seeking a degree in one of the following areas listed below from an accredited college or university:
    • Engineering Technology Management
    • Electrical and Computer Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Management and Organization
    • Management Science and Engineering
  • This is a full-time, 10-week program designed to give you real-world experience working within the telecommunications industry in your field of choice.
  • Internship program runs from May 27 through July 31, 2026.
  • In addition to the role-based projects you’ll work on, you’ll also participate in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and have access to a mentor.

The Spectrum Internship Experience
You’ll join one of our departments for the summer, where you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that give you insight into what it’s like to work at a leading connectivity company. You’ll have access to:

What you can expect in this role 

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams — your respective department and your intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include

  • Assisting Field Engineering and Construction Supervisors in reviewing project plans and implementation.
  • Conducting site walks with supervisors to understand construction practices, permitting, and engineering design.
  • Supporting field validation of network designs by comparing as-built conditions against engineering documents.
  • Completing assigned technical and business-related projects, documenting progress, and presenting results to management. 
  • Participating in departmental meetings to learn about workflow processes, project management, and construction timelines.
  • Collaborating with peers on cross-functional intern projects.

Required qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Preferred qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, construction drawings, and technical schematics. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications, construction methods, or engineering principles. 
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS mapping tools, or similar software.
